NEW YORK, NY – The Johns Hopkins wrestling team opened the second half of its 2025-26 schedule with three matches at NYU's UAA Challenge on Saturday. The Blue Jays fell to the host Violets (45-6) to open the day and also dropped matches to Chicago (32-10) and Case Western (27-16).

The Blue Jays had a trio of double winners on the day in senior
Connor Powell (165), junior
Freddy Pimental (157) and sophomore
Giorgio Difalco (157). Each of the three went 2-1 on the day.

Powell picked up a pair of victories by fall, including a 29-second pin of Mark Landes of Case Western. The 29-second pin for Powell is the fastest by a Blue Jay wrestler this season and his two wins against one loss on the day bump his career record to 69-45.

Pimental scored a win by decision against NYU and added a major decision against Case Western, while Difalco added a decision against NYU and a major decision against Chicago. Pimental's major decision was the 20
th of his career, while Difalco is closing quickly on his 50
th career victory as he bumped his career record to 45-25 with his effort today.
