BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins women's soccer coach
Dan Weiler will tell you the most important thing about Saturday's 1-0 win against Franklin & Marshall was that it kept his Blue Jays atop the Centennial Conference standings.
Â
In theory, and to this 2026 team, that's at least partially true. Yes, the Blue Jays are still alone in first place, but there was more to the story on Saturday, and much of it revolved around Weiler and the place in history that he cemented for himself with the win.
Â
Weiler reached a pair of milestones after the Blue Jays gutted out the hard-fought one-goal win against the Diplomats. The win was the 100
th for Weiler at Johns Hopkins as he improved his remarkable record at Homewood to 100-14-12 in six seasons. After arriving early in the spring of 2020, he was forced to wait until 2021 to coach his first game at Hopkins due to the COVID Pandemic. Since then, he's reeled off the 100 wins in just 126 games.
Â
When he arrived in Baltimore in early March of 2020, he brought with him 257 career victories, 144 that he accumulated at Concordia Moorhead (2002-12) and 113 from his seven-year run at Christopher Newport (2013-19).
Â
Early Saturday evening, his 100
th win at Hopkins banked after senior
Caroline Marcus scored the game's only goal in the 66
th minute, he added his name to the list of all-time NCAA men's and women's soccer coaches who have won 100 or more games at three schools.
Â
I've compiled the entire list of coaches who have achieved the 100-wins-at-three-schools milestone. Are you ready for it? Here it is.
Dan Weiler.
Â
Weiler didn't actually add his name to a list of soccer coaches who have won 100 games at three different schools. He created the list. Prior to Saturday, no coach in NCAA soccer history had ever turned this trick.
Â
As for how the Blue Jays topped the Diplomats, they capitalized on the game's best scoring chance to score the game's only goal. Sophomore
Carolina Chao lofted a ball into the box from near midfield and it bounced through traffic – and past F&M goalie Lucy Fleming who had come off her line – towards the endline. Freshman
Addi Dauler chased it down before it went out and slipped a pass through even more traffic to the middle, where Marcus poked home her team-leading fifth goal of the game.
Â
The 20
th-ranked Blue Jays outshot the Diplomats 12-5, but beat Fleming just the one time. F&M came in having allowed just six goals all season, so goals figured to be hard to come by. They were, but Marcus gave the Blue Jays all they would need.
Â
At the other end, sophomore
Ella Kruntchev punched aside all four F&M offerings that were on frame, including a floater from Liz King with 90 seconds remaining that appeared ticketed for the far post before Kruntchev turned it away. A threat off a resulting corner didn't materialize and there were a lot of ramifications that came with that final save.
Â
Johns Hopkins remained atop the Centennial standings with a 6-1 league mark (10-1-2 overall).
Â
Dan Weiler earned his 100
th career win at Johns Hopkins.
Â
The NCAA was handed the first entry on soccer's 100-wins-at-three-schools list.Â
Â
Let me share that list with you again.
Â
Dan Weiler. That's it - he's the list.
