Brotherton Named Centennial XC Athlete of the Week

LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins junior Carter Brotherton was named the Centennial Conference Cross Country Athlete of the Week after claiming the individual title at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational. This is her first weekly conference honor of the season and makes her the first Blue Jay to be recognized.

Brotherton led the fourth-ranked Blue Jays to a team win at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational, running the fastest time in the field to claim the individual title. In a field of 453 runners, the junior covered the course in 20:48.2 to easily outpace Batten's Ester Zar, who crossed 17 seconds later (21:05.4) to finish second. The Blue Jays totaled 43 points to edge Lafayette (60), Shippensburg (165), Saint Francis (202) and Towson (213), who all finished in the top five.

Hopkins returns to the course on Saturday, October 31, in Haverford, PA, when the Blue Jays will compete in the Centennial Conference Championships on their quest to capture the program's 18th consecutive title.
