Fifth-Ranked Blue Jays Grab 18th Consecutive Centennial Conference Championship

Blue Jays Produce Individual Champion for 14th Time

HAVERFORD, PA – The fifth-ranked Johns Hopkins women's cross country team continued its dominance Saturday afternoon at Haverford College, capturing its 18th consecutive Centennial Conference championship behind the individual champion and four of the top six finishers overall. The Blue Jays have now produced the conference's individual champion in five consecutive seasons and 14 times since 2008.

With five runners finishing among the top nine, Johns Hopkins totaled 23 points, the fifth-lowest score in program history, to comfortably claim the team title. Swarthmore finished second with 53 points, while Franklin & Marshall (92), Haverford (103) and Dickinson (137) rounded out the top five.

Junior Carter Brotherton added her name to an elite group of Blue Jays, becoming just the second runner in program history to win multiple individual Centennial Conference championships, joining Ellie Clawson. Brotherton also became the eighth runner in conference history to capture back-to-back individual titles. She crossed the finish line in 21:12.4, recording the fourth-fastest 6K time in Johns Hopkins' conference championship history. She led nearly wire-to-wire before holding off freshman teammate Alexia Tubbs, who finished second in 21:29.7 and earned top freshman honors.

The Blue Jays continued to showcase their depth with three more runners finishing among the top six. Junior Sydney Shock placed fifth in 21:45.5, followed by seniors Diana Valentini in sixth (21:54.8) and Natalie Boquist in ninth (22:03.3) to round out the team's scoring five.

Johns Hopkins added three more top-15 finishes, as Ani Wedemeyer placed 10th in 22:05.0, Abby Artabane finished 12th in 22:14.1 and Kira Dye crossed in 13th in 22:19.2.

Brotherton became the seventh junior to win the Centennial Conference individual championship and the first since Johns Hopkins' Adriana Catalano claimed the title in 2024. Tubbs was the only freshman to finish among the top 10. All seven Blue Jays who finished among the top 14 earned All-Centennial Conference honors, with the top seven named to the First Team and places eight through 14 earning Second Team honors.
