BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins senior
Ava Angello has been named the USA Lacrosse Player of the Week for her performance in the season-opening win at Liberty. This is her first career national player of the week honor.
Angello scored eight goals, on just nine shots on goal, to single-handedly outscore the Flames on Saturday in the Blue Jays' 17-7 win. The eight goals tied her career high and are one shy of the school Division I record.
Angello ranks fourth in Johns Hopkins Division I history, and eighth all-time, with 166 career goals. She extended her goal-scoring streak to 40 games.
