LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins turned in a trio of top five finishes and picked up 137.5 points on day two of the Centennial Conference Championship Friday night. The Blue Jays now sit in third place with 225.5 points through six events.
Melissa Er led the Blue Jays in the first event of the night, finishing fifth in the 500 Free in 5:07.93.
Alex Watson and
Julia Tuinman then finished back-to-back in seventh and eighth. Watson clocked in at 5:08.69, with Tuinman touching in 5:10.15. In the B Final,
Carly White finished second in 5:10.61 while
Claire Han placed sixth with a swim of 5:14.24.
Rachel Davis then swam to a fifth-place finish in the 200 IM as she turned in a career-best time of 2:06.76.
Kate Petitt took eighth place in a career-best 2:08.57. In the B Final,
Amy Hu finished third (2:09.35), followed by
Maddie Horner in sixth (2:10.70) and
Jaya Veerapaneni in seventh (2:10.94).
Kimberly Lan made it three straight fifth place finishes as she swam a career-best 23.58 in the 50 Free.
Elizabeth Cohen finished in a tie for sixth place with a time of 23.92. In the B Final,
Anna Miler took second place with a swim of 23.96.
Reese Rosenthal and
Renee Bak then finished just four-hundredths of a second apart in fourth (24.05) and fifth (24.09).
Hopkins ended the night with a second-place finish in the B Final of the 400 Medley Relay.
Lily Rossmann, Rosenthal, Petitt and Cohen finished in 3:49.77.
The Centennial Championships continue Saturday, February 21 with the prelims of the 200 Back at 10:00 am. The finals are scheduled for a 6:00 pm start.
