LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins took second place at the 2026 Centennial Conference Championships, finishing just 15.5 points out of first. Swarthmore won its fifth consecutive title with 819 points, followed closely by Hopkins with 803.5 points.
In the first event of the fourth and final day, the Blue Jays placed four swimmers in the top six of the 1650 Free.
Julia Tuinman led the way as she took fourth place with a swim of 17:49.12.
Melissa Er finished in fifth (17:55.22) with
Carly White following in sixth place (17:59.62).
Hopkins then had four swimmers finish in the top 11 in the 200 Back, led by
Ken Lee. Lee clocked in at 2:00.00 to grab silver in the event. Their time is also an NCAA B qualifying time.
Lily Rossmann finished in fourth place in 2:05.39 and
Stella Zhang placed eighth in 2:07.31.
Jaya Veerapaneni took 11
th place with a time of 2:08.42.
The Blue Jays continued to show off its depth with five swimmers in the top 13 of the 100 Free.
Elizabeth Cohen paced the Jays with a fifth-place finish in 51.56, while
Anna Miler took eighth with a career-best 52.27.
Claire Han (52.87)
Kimberly Lan (52.93) and
Alex Watson (52.97) finished within one-tenth of a second of each to place 11
th, 12
th and 13
th, respectively.
Rachel Davis then grabbed silver in the 200 Breast as she touched in 2:22.97.
Amy Hu turned in a career-best swim of 2:24.54 for fifth place.
Reese Rosenthal did the same, finishing in 2:26.07 for seventh place.
Renee Bak then placed ninth with a time of 2:26.54.
Kate Petitt and
Maddie Horner went back-to-back in the 200 Fly. Petitt grabbed bronze as she finished in 2:07.41 with Horner clocking in at 2:08.45.
Hopkins ended the meet with silver in the 400 Free Relay. Cohen, Lan, Bake and Miler finished with an NCAA B time of 3:26.69. In addition, the team of Watson, Lee, Rosenthal and Han took second in the B Final in 3:29.91.
Hopkins, competing in its first conference championship meet in a decade, turned its best finish since 2013. That year, JHU took second at the BlueGrass Mountain Conference Championship.
JHU will return to the pool at the 2026 NCAA Championships, March 18-21 in Indianapolis, IN.
