Johns Hopkins Draws TCNJ In NCAA First Round

BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins earned an at-large bid to the 2026 NCAA Tournament and will take on TCNJ in the first round on Friday, March 6. The Johns Hopkins-TCNJ game is one of two games that will take place at top-ranked Randolph-Macon with the host Yellow Jackets taking on NC Wesleyan in the other matchup.
 
The winners of Friday's first round games will meet on Saturday, March 7 for a spot in the round of 16. Hopkins and TCNJ will tip-off at 4:15 pm with Randolph-Macon and NC Wesleyan set to tip at 6:45 pm. Saturday's game is set for a 6:45 pm tip.  
 
Hopkins (20-7) is making its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2023 and 16th overall. The Blue Jays are coming off their eighth straight trip to the Centennial Conference championship game. Hopkins is 12-15 all-time in the tournament with a trio of Sweet 16 appearances. This will be the first-ever meeting between Hopkins and TCNJ on the hardwood.
 
TCNJ (21-6) is making its third straight trip to the NCAA Tournament after winning the NJAC Tournament on Saturday. This is the Lions' 10th trip all-time, which includes national championship game appearances in 1989 and 1998. TCNJ beat then top-ranked and unbeaten Montclair State in the regular season finale before beating the Red Hawks 10 days later in the NJAC title game.
 
Host Randolph-Macon (25-3) earned an at-large bid after falling by a point in the ODAC Championship on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets are in the NCAA Tournament for the seventh straight year and 23rd all-time. RMC won the 2022 NCAA Championship and made another Final Four appearance in 2010.
 
NC Wesleyan (21-6) won the USA South Conference Championship to earn its first trip to the tournament since 2023. The Battling Bishops have made seven trips to the NCAA Tournament since their first appearance in 1983. NC Wesleyan beat top-seeded Pfeiffer, 84-79, on Saturday to win their sixth USA South Championship.
