Johns Hopkins Turns in Trio of Top Six Finishes at NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Johns Hopkins turned in a trio of top six finishes on day three of the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships. The Blue Jays grabbed 75 points on the day to jump into 10th place at the championships.

Hopkins kicked off the night with a fifth-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay. The team of Aden Li, Jonathan Wang, Avery Clapp and Michael Ivanov turned in a finals swim of 1:27.36, breaking the school record in the process. The quartet earns First Team All-America honors with its finish. It is the sixth straight year and 10th time in the last 11 years that JHU has produced an All-American 200 Medley Team.

He clocked in with a time of 1:45.96, the fourth fastest in program history. It is his fourth First Team All-America honor in the event, as he has placed in the top four each time. Clapp is the fourth four-time First Team All-American in the 200 Fly in program history.

Kai Henrikson-Brandt then placed sixth in the championship final of the 100 Back. He touched the wall in 47.35, breaking the seven-year-old school record by 0.25 seconds. He is the first to earn First Team All-America honors in the event since 2019. Li won the consolation final with a finals' swim of 47.64. His time is a career-best and the third fastest in school history.

Hopkins ended day three of the championships with a 12th-place finish in the 800 Free Relay. Bryce Lloyd, Josiah March, Ken Ning and Larry Yu finished in 6:36.78. Hopkins has now produced an All-American 800 Free Relay team every year since 1972.
