BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins earned the number four seed in the 2026 NCAA Tournament and will host the first and second rounds for the second straight year. The Blue Jays (14-4) earned an at-large bid to the tournament for the eighth straight year and 14
th overall.
This is the second straight year, and third time in program history, that Hopkins earned a top eight seed. The number four seed is the highest in program history. The Blue Jays faced eight teams this season that made the 29-team field, including four of top eight seeds.
Hopkins will take on UAlbany (12-5), winners of the America East, in the first round on Friday, May 8 at 3:00 pm at Homewood Field. This will be the third meeting in the last four seasons between the Blue Jays and the Great Danes and first in the NCAA Tournament. In the other first round game, 13
th-ranked Army (14-4) will take on Fairfield (15-3) at 6:00 pm. Army earned an at-large bid out of the Patriot League, while Fairfield punched its ticket to the tournament by winning the MAAC.
Friday's winners will meet on Sunday, May 10 at 12:00 pm for a spot in the NCAA Quarterfinals. All three games will be show on ESPN+.
Hopkins' offense features three players with 79 or more points in
Lacey Downey (90),
Ava Angello (85) and
Taylor Hoss (79). The Blue Jays also boast the NCAA's all-time leader in caused turnovers in
Reagan O'Brien, who now counts 241 in her career. Hopkins ranks in the top 10 in the nation in assists (8.78/game), caused turnovers (13.61), ground balls (20.06) and points (23.39).
