Johns Hopkins Rides Chilton Hat Trick Past #22 TCNJ, 4-1

BALTIMORE, MD – Sarah Chilton scored the game's first three goals to lead Johns Hopkins to a 4-1 win over 22nd-ranked TCNJ Saturday afternoon. The Blue Jays improve to 3-1 while the Lions suffer their first loss of the season and fall to 3-1.

Chilton collected her first career hat trick in the first half, with all three goals coming via penalty stroke. She scored her first of the season, and the game at 7:09, in the first quarter. Chilton then scored from the spot at 7:16 and 13:36 in the second. She is the first player in program history to score three penalty stroke goals in one game.

Hopkins pushed its lead to four just 1:36 into the third quarter when Eliza Vander tipped a ball from Kaitlin Coward over TCNJ goalie Brigitte Racey. A little over 10 minutes later, the Lions broke through as they capitalized on a penalty corner. Prisha Dhruve inserted to Rachael Tetzlaff on the near side and she scored on a low, hard shot.

Aubrey Kilgore played three quarters in goal and finished with three saves. She became the winningest goalie in program history with her 41st career win. She broke the record held by Alexis Loder (2020-23). Jessica Lapidus played the second quarter and did not face a shot. Racey totaled 14 saves and got a defensive save from Tetzlaff.

Hopkins finished with a 23-5 advantage in shots and a 12-4 edge in corners.

JHU returns to action on Wednesday, September 16 at third-ranked Salisbury. The non-conference contest is scheduled for a 6:00 pm start.
