Johns Hopkins Blanks St. Mary's, 1-0

BALTIMORE, MD – Jason Pan scored the game's only goal and John Ghanem made three saves as Johns Hopkins shutout visiting St. Mary's 1-0 Wednesday night. The Blue Jays improve to 3-2-1 while the Seahawks fall to 3-4-0.

Hopkins got on the board in the 29th minute with a connection between Rohan Aggarwal and Pan. Dusty Dwyer crossed the ball into the box from the near the right sideline and the defense attempted to clear the ball. It bounced right to Aggarwal, who settled the ball and then chipped it back into the box, where Pan flicked it inside the right post from the right corner of the six-yard box.

Ghanem and the defense made Pan's goal stand up as the Seahawks totaled nine shots and seven corners in the second half. Ghanem finished with three saves, including two in the second half, to earn his second shutout of the season. Zack Reed also posted three saves for St. Mary's.

Hopkins is back in action on Saturday, September 19 at Swarthmore. Game time for the Centennial Conference opener is slated for 4:00 pm.
