- Played lacrosse and football.
- Played high school lacrosse for his father, Jimmy Harkin, who played lacrosse at Johns Hopkins and graduated in 1991.
- Rang up career totals of 157 goals and 140 assists.
- Helped team to the second round of the state tournament three times, the third round once (junior season) and a four-year record of 55-16.
- Had career highs of 63 goals and 45 assists as a senior, when he led team to a 15-3 record.
- Punched up 20 goals and 20 assists as a freshman, 22 goals and 35 assists as a sophomore and 52 goals and 40 assists as a junior.
- Played wide receiver and free safety for football team.  Totaled seven received touchdowns and four interceptions as a senior.
