Did You Know: P.J. DiConza boasts a team-best 3.68 cumulative grade point average and was inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars on September 26, 2000 • After graduating in May he plans to attend law school.

This Season: Co-captain • Honorable Mention Preseason All-American by 2002 Face-Off Yearbook despite missing the last five games of the 2001 season with an injury • Leader of the Johns Hopkins defense • Expected to start at close defense, but could see time at the rope depending on the game-by-game matchups.

2001: Was enjoying a season worthy of All-America consideration before suffering a season-ending injury prior to the Maryland game • Played in seven games at the rope and had one assist and 19 ground balls before missing the last five games • Johns Hopkins had not allowed more than 10 goals in any game and was allowing an average of just 7.3 goals per game before his injury • After he was lost for the year, the Blue Jays did not hold an opponent to less 10 goals in any game.

2000: Started the first four games on close defense and played the last nine at the rope • Finished the season with one assist and 34 ground balls to his credit • Lone assist on the year came in the NCAA Semifinals against Syracuse when he assisted on Adam Doneger[apos]s goal with 10:54 remaining in the first quarter to give Hopkins a 2-0 lead.

1999: Played in 12 games as a defensive midfielder in his first season at Hopkins, helping the Blue Jays to their first appearance in the Final Four since 1996 • Did not register a point, but scooped up 15 ground balls on the year.

At Manhasset: Participated in lacrosse, football, and track at Manhasset • Earned All-America honors in lacrosse and helped team to a state title while twice serving as a team captain • Was also a three-time member of the gold-medal winning team at the Empire State Championships in New York.
