2001: Started all 12 games in goal Posted a sparkling 8.52 goals against average and a .587 save percentage Found out less than five minutes before the season-opener at Princeton that he would be the Blue Jays[apos] starting goalie With no time to get nervous, Scherr played a strong game, registering 12 saves, including several of the point-blank variety, while allowing just eight goals Was especially solid in games played away from Homewood Field against very strong competition as he posted a 9.67 goals against average and a .580 save percentage in six games away from Homewood Field All six games were played against teams ranked in the top 14 in the nation at the time of the game, including matchups against then top-ranked Syracuse, then second-ranked Princeton, and then fifth-ranked Maryland and Notre Dame Posted a career-high 18 saves in the NCAA Quarterfinals against Notre Dame.
