Henry Barrett

Barrett joined the Johns Hopkins men's tennis staff for the 2021-22 season. 

In his first season at Homewood, Barrett helped Hopkins to a 19-2 record and the 2022 Centennial Conference Championship. The Blue Jays advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and beat nine ranked opponents. Last season, he helped the Blue Jays to their second straight 19-win season as well as a spot in the NCAA Sweet 16. 

Barrett graduated from Kenyon in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Art History. While at Kenyon, he competed for a top-10 nationally ranked team playing primarily four, five and six singles as well as all three doubles spots. He helped the Lords win three NCAC Championships and earned NCAC All-Conference honors in doubles as a senior. 

Barrett has seven years coaching experience with Ross Coleman's Hawkeye tennis program as well as five years coaching at the Elkridge Country Club. He has competed professionally in Egypt, Dominican Republic, France, and Mexico earning a professional ATP Doubles ranking. He has also served as the official hitting partner at the Citi Open event in Washington D.C. training with Naomi Osaka, Nick Kyrgios, David Goffin, and Kei Nishikori.

A native of Baltimore and graduate of nearby Gilman School, Barrett enjoys house music and mountain climbing when away from the courts. Barrett began in his collegiate career at Rhodes College before transferring to Kenyon.
