Maura Knestout enters her seventh season on Bobby Van Allen's staff for the cross country and track seasons.

Following the program's impressive 2022 Indoor season in which she helped six Blue Jay distance runners qualify for the NCAA Championship, Knestout was named the USTFCCCA Women's Assistant Coach of the Year. the Maryland native was previously named the Mideast Regional Coach of the Year for the 2018-19 and 2019-2020 indoor campaigns as five of her athletes qualified for nationals in two events in 2019 and seven entered in the NCAA Division III Championships.

She was a member of the Syracuse University Cross Country and Track Program from 2011-2016 where she was All Region in Cross Country 2014, and competed in the 2013 and 2014 NCAA XC Championships. 

Knestout was a two-time qualifier for NCAA Track & Field East Preliminary in the 10k. She continues to run post collegiately, placing 20th at the 2017 USATF Club Cross Country Championships and Racing in the 2020 Marathon Olympic Trials.
