ALLENTOWN, PA - Freshman Meg McIntosh (Los Angeles, CA/Brentwood) scored twice and freshman Brenda Bzdak (Mequon, WI/Homestead) added a goal as the Johns Hopkins women's soccer team earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament with a 3-0 win over Gettysburg in the Centennial Conference Championship this afternoon in Allentown.

The Centennial Conference title is the third for Hopkins and first since 1997. The Blue Jays will be making their third appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first since the 1998 season. The NCAA will announce pairings and sites Sunday evening.

Bzdak opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a left-footed shot into the upper corner of the net from 20 yards out. McIntosh gave JHU a 2-0 cushion in the 73rd minute as she scored on a one-on-one with the goalkeeper and added her team-leading ninth goal of the season four minutes later on an assist from sophomore Kathleen Turley (New Hyde Park, NY/New Hyde Park).

Senior Shannon O'Malley (Greenlawn, NY/Long Island Lutheran) and the Blue Jay defense had an excellent game as they kept the Bullets off the scoreboard. O'Malley stopped 10 Gettysburg shots and now has 249 saves for her career. She needs just three saves to set the JHU career record.
