Senior midfielder Annie Colabella (East Granby, CT/East Granby) netted her first goal of the season at the 7:33 mark to give the Blue Jays an early, 1-0 lead. Freshman Lauren Baumann (Milford, MI/Greenmills School) assisted on Collabella's tally. After holding on to a one goal lead for most of the game JHU put the game away when freshman Kaitlin Giannetti (Montclair, NJ/Montclair) headed in a corner kick from classmate Jessica McKenzie (Morristown, NJ/Morristown) at the 83:35 mark to give the Blue Jays a 2-0 lead. Giannetti's goal was the first in her career at Hopkins.
A little more then four minutes later McKenzie ripped a shot from about 35 yards out that found the back of the net, giving the freshman her first career tally as well. Baumann completed the scoring for JHU when she headed in a Jessica Sapienza (Northport, NY/Northport) crossing pass in the final minute of regulation to give Hopkins a 4-0 victory.
The Blue Jays are back in action on Wednesday, September 10 when they travel to play No. 2 Messiah.
