BRYN MAWR, PA - Junior Meg McIntosh (Los Angeles, CA/Brentwood) scored three goals to lead the Johns Hopkins women's soccer team past Bryn Mawr 7-0 in a Centennial Conference matchup. The Blue Jays improved to 11-3-1 overall and 5-2 in the Centennial Conference while the Owls slipped to 3-9-1 and 0-6.
McIntosh scored the first two goals of the game and freshman Kim Lane (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan) added another in the first half for a 3-0 Hopkins lead at the break. Senior Kathleen Turley (New Hyde Park, NY/New Hyde Park) set up McIntosh 8:58 into the game and Lane assisted the next goal at 11:55 before scoring her team-high tenth goal of the year at 14:12.
Junior Jen Goebel (Jericho, NY/Jericho) made two first-half saves for the Blue Jays, who out-shot Bryn Mawr 11-3. Lauren Trembath had five saves in goal for the Owls.
Turley scored her second goal of the season off a corner at 68:55 and freshman Sarah Butler (Salt Lake City, UT/East) set up sophomore Jessie McKenzie (Morristown, NJ/Morristown) just 35 seconds later for a 5-0 Johns Hopkins lead. Sophomore Laurie Baumann (Milford, MI/Greenmills) and McIntosh sealed the win with a goal apiece at 74:10 and 88:13.
Hopkins out-shot Bryn Mawr 19-4 and had 18 corner kicks while the Owls had none. Goebel finished with two saves and Trembath had seven.
Johns Hopkins hosts McDaniel this Thursday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m.
