CHESTERTOWN, MD - The Johns Hopkins women's volleyball team posted a 3-0 victory at Washington College on Wednesday night. The Blue Jays (12-12, 3-4) received a double-double from junior Natalia Fijalkowski with 13 kills and 11 digs in the win (30-23, 30-24, 30-27). The Blue Jays need one more win to reach 100 victories in Centennial play.
In game one, Washington cut the Hopkins lead to 23-22, before Hopkins rattled off five straight points, to take control of the game. Up 21-20 in game two, the Blue Jays outscored the Shorewomen 9-3, to claim the game two win. Game three saw Washington within three points late but Hopkins held on for the victory.
Katherine O'Brien led Washington with 14 kills while Nanna Kozemchak posted a team-high 14 digs. Caitlin Ward dished out a game-high 37 assists and Arielle Brown notched 11 digs.
For the Blue Jays, Fijalkowski posted the double-double while Laura Carrihill had a team-high 14 kills. Amanda Lewis dished out 44 assists and Kim Jackanich tied Fijalkowski for the team-high in digs with 11.
The Blue Jays return home on Saturday, October 21st to host Bryn Mawr at 1 p.m.
