Notes from the Johns Hopkins-Delaware Men's Lacrosse Game

? Johns Hopkins moves into its third NCAA Championship game in the last five years and 17th title game overall. The Blue Jays are 8-8 in championship game.

? Johns Hopkins will meet Duke in the NCAA Championship game on Monday. The game is a rematch of the 2005 title game, won by Johns Hopkins, 9-8.

? Johns Hopkins has won eight straight games since a 4-4 start. The eight-game winning streak is tied for the fourth-longest in the Dave Pietramala era.

? The Blue Jays snapped Delaware's seven-game winning streak with the victory. The Blue Jays have now snapped winning streaks of eight (Notre Dame), eight (Georgetown) and seven (Delaware) games with their three NCAA Tournament wins.

? The Blue Jay defense held Delaware scoreless for the first 25:32 and a stretch of 20:00 later in the game. Hopkins has now held the opposition scoreless for a span of 10:57 or longer 24 times this season. The two streaks of 20+ minutes push that total to eight on the year.

? The three goals the Blue Hens scored are tied for the second-fewest Hopkins has ever allowed in an NCAA Tournament game. JHU held Army to two goals in a 14-2 in the first round of the 2003 tournament.

? The three goals Delaware scored are the fewest ever in an NCAA Semfinal game.

? Jesse Schwartzman picked up career save number 500 in the victory and now has 504 saves to his credit. He is just the sixth JHU goalie to reach the 500-career save mark.

? Jesse Schwartzman improved to 9-1 all-time as JHU's starting goalie in NCAA Tournament games. His nine NCAA Tournament victories ties Mike Federico's school record for most in a career.

? Junior Stephen Peyser tied his career high with three goals against the Blue Hens. Both of Peyser's career hat tricks have come in NCAA Tournament games (2005 NCAA Quarerfinals vs. UMass).

? Freshman Michael Kimmel nothced his fourth hat trick of the season and now has 23 goals on the year. The 23 goals are tied for the most ever by a freshman midfielder in the Pietramala era (Paul Rabil ? 2005).

? The Blue Jays improved to 3-2 all-time in M&T Bank Stadium and picked up their second win this year in the stadium (Princeton).

? JHU is now 22-5 all-time in the month of May under Dave Pietramala.

? Hopkins got seven of its eight goals in the game from midfielders. The only goal scored by an attackman was by sophomore Tom Duerr.
