BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins Department of Athletics announced the relaunching and redesign of the official web site of Blue Jay athletics - www.HopkinsSports.com - today. Johns Hopkins recently renewed its agreement with CBS College Sports, the official web site provider for Blue Jay athletics, and the relaunch and redesign kick start the five-year agreement.
In addition to the updated modern look and design, fans of Johns Hopkins athletics will find several new features with the new site. Among the additions and upgrades to the site:
• A new photo store where parents, alumni and fans can purchase their favorite images.
• Regular online auctions. Fans can bid on a variety of items, including experiential opportunities (traveling with a team to an away contest for example), memorabilia and much more.
• Up to 30 free video web streams of Blue Jay athletic events each year. Previously, there was a fee to watch a Johns Hopkins athletic event via HopkinsSports.com.
• The addition of a Traditions section, which provides an in-depth look at JHU's all-time Academic All-Americans, Postgraduate Scholarship recipients, National Championships and Conference Championships.
• An expanded selection of items in the online store, which features official Blue Jay apparel and much more.
"We are thrilled with the new look of the site and the additional features that have been added," noted Ernie Larossa, Associate Director of Athletics and Sports Information Director at Johns Hopkins. "In many ways, HopkinsSports.com is the window through which the Department of Athletics is viewed and the information provided and the manner in which it is provided impact areas such as recruiting, alumni relations and development. We will spend time over the next several weeks enhancing what we have, but we are excited about where we are and how this change will positively impact every area of the Johns Hopkins Department of Athletics." Larossa and Assistant Sports Information Director Jill Olsen oversaw the redesign and worked closely with the team at CBS College Sports on the development of each element of the site.
