BALTIMORE, MD - The fifth ranked Johns Hopkins women's soccer team continued to roll past opposition with a 5-0 win over Centennial Conference foe, Dickinson, on a windy and wet Wednesday evening at Homewood Field.
With the win, the Blue Jays remain perfect on the season at 14-0 and move to 7-0 in the Centennial while Dickinson falls to 9-4-1 and 5-3 in the conference.
Coming into tonight's game, the Red Devils were riding a 480:38 stretch without giving up a goal until senior Paulina Goodman netted her third game winning goal of the season in the eighth minute to get the Blue Jays out to an early lead. From that point on, it was all Blue Jays as the Hopkins' offense possessed the ball for a majority of the game.
Sophomore Pam Vranis took a soft pass to her left side from freshman Hannah Kronick in the center of the box and shot the ball into the top left corner in the 25th minute to put the Blue Jays up 2-0. Just over four minutes later, Goodman scored her second goal of the game getting a pass from senior Erica Suter to the back of her right foot to put the ball in the back of the net to round out the Hopkins first half scoring.
The Blue Jays used two more quick goals late in the second half to put the game out of reach of the Red Devils. Suter took a pass from senior Leslie O'Brien in front of the net and scored her conference leading 15th goal of the season in the 77th minute just before sophomore Amanda Yaccarino tallied her first goal of the year taking a header from freshman Jillian Lane to put the ball in the left side of goal and give the Blue Jays a 5-0 victory.
Senior keeper Kristen Redsun needed just two saves in her third shutout of the season.
Kronick's early first half assist pushed her consecutive games registering at least a point to 13 games as she has scored a point in every game she has played in as a Blue Jay.
Johns Hopkins returns to the field when the Blue Jays kick off a two-game road trip traveling to CC opponent, Bryn Mawr on Saturday, October 22 with the game time set for 2 pm.
