GETTYSBURG, PA -- Emily Nagourney nodded home a header in the 81st minute to guide the No. 24 Johns Hopkins team past Gettysburg, 2-1, Saturday night in Gettysburg, PA.

Nagourney's first career goal capped off a two-goal rally in the game's final minutes to clinch the number one seed in the Centennial Conference tournament for Hopkins (14-3-1, 9-1). With the loss, Gettysburg (12-5, 8-2) earned the second seed.

Despite maintaining the majority of possession and outshooting the Bullets 8-2 in the first half, Gettysburg held a one-goal advantage heading into the halftime break. The Bullets scored in the 11th minute after Tobi Goss scored her first goal of the season past goalkeeper Meredith Maguire.

Following the break, the Blue Jays continued to pressure the Gettysburg defense and goalie Eliza Gray. Hopkins finally broke through in the 71st minute when Kelly Baker knocked home a loose ball in the box to tie the match, 1-1. The strike was Baker's eighth of the season.

Nagourney then put Hopkins ahead with a thrilling header off a free kick by teammate Christina Convey in the 81st minute. Goss managed two shots for the Bullets in the waning moments, but the Blue Jays held on for the victory.

Maguire made two saves in the victory, while Gray made six saves for Gettysburg.

The victory ensured Hopkins as the host of the conference tournament for the second-straight season. The Blue Jays will face the winner of Swarthmore and Muhlenberg in the conference semi-finals on Saturday, November 3, at Homewood Field. Hopkins is searching for its eighth consecutive conference title.
