-- Men's Lacrosse Hosts Baltimore Rival UMBC Tonight --
The No. 6 Blue Jays look to build on a 19-9 win over Mount St. Mary's Tuesday as they welcome UMBC to Homewood Field at 5:00 tonight. Hopkins is 10-0 all-time against the Retrievers, including a 12-5 victory last season at M&T Bank Stadium. UMBC head coach Don Zimmerman guided Hopkins to three NCAA Championships during his tenure from 1984-90. -- Women's Lacrosse Faces Big Test Against Northwestern --
After a resounding 11-8 victory over cross-town rival Loyola last weekend, No. 12 Hopkins (4-0) welcomes No. 4 Northwestern (4-1) to Homewood Field for a monumental matchup Saturday at noon. The Wildcats have dominated the college lacrosse landscape, winning seven of the last eight national championships. The Jays defeated Northwestern on Homewood Field in 2011 in thrilling fashion, 12-11.
-- Women's Track & Field Heads to NCAA Championships --
Three individual athletes and the distance medley relay team are currently in Naperville, IL preparing for the NCAA Championships. At 4:45 this afternoon, third-seeded senior Annie Monagle will run in the mile prelims, followed by the distance medley relay final at 7:00 pm. On Saturday, Imoni McCorvey will start the triple jump at 3:00 pm and Monagle will run in the mile finals at 2:40 pm. Second-seeded Hannah Oneda will compete in the 5000-meter run at 4:40 pm.
-- Baseball Builds on Undefeated Opening Weekend --
Johns Hopkins hosts Rutgers-Newark this afternoon at 2:30 pm, before welcoming Mary Washington tomorrow at 1:00 pm. The Jays opened their season with strong victories over Messiah and Oneonta State last weekend. Junior outfielder Mike Denlinger was named to the D3baseball Team of the Week after going 5-for-6 from the plate with four RBIs.
-- Men's and Women's Fencing Compete at NCAA Regionals --
Both the men's and women's fencing teams are in action Saturday as they compete in the NCAA Regional Championships. Last weekend, the men captured their record 26th MACFA Championship, while the women won the EWFC Dual Meet Championship on February 10.
