Two Gettysburg goals proved to be enough for the Bullets to walk out of Homewood Field with a win.
The action got under way quickly, with Teng taking the ball and dribbling past two defenders before blasting a shot past the Gettysburg goalkeeper into the upper left corner of the goal. But Gettysburg bounced back with the equalizer less than two minutes later with Lauren Schapiro scoring her fifth season goal after chipping a shot past Hopkins goalkeeper Clara Aranguren.
After going into the half tied 1-1, play was back and forth before Brigid Behan added a goal in the 62nd minute to put the Bullets ahead 2-1. From there the Jays couldn't capitalize on opportunities, as they had four second half corner kicks and outshot the Bullets 4-2 in the second half.
The loss for the Jays (15-3-0, 9-1-0 CC) was their first since an early season 2-1 defeat at the hands of Lynchburg. For the Bullets (13-3-1, (9-0-1 CC) the win was their ninth in a row and captured the top seed in the Centennial Conference tournament which begins Wednesday.
