Dec. 5, 2014 Sophomore Will Bellamy joined the Johns Hopkins Athletic Communications staff as a student assistant not long after arriving at Homewood in August 2013. An experienced writer, he will bolster the efforts of the office with a preview of each weekend's events (
please note that this is not intended to be an exhaustive in-depth preview of every game or event. Rather, it provides a quick overview for fans with key links and things to look for. Key games, especially those against nationally-ranked teams or those with playoff implications, will lead the column each week).
Women's Soccer
The Johns Hopkins women's soccer team will make its first ever appearance in an NCAA Division III Final Four match on Friday night.
The 20th-ranked Blue Jays will take on fifth-ranked Williams College at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, MO at 8:30 p.m. ET. If JHU emerges victorious, the team will face either top-ranked Lynchburg or unranked Illinois Wesleyan in the national championship game on Saturday night.
The Blue Jays have defeated Farmingdale State, SUNY Geneseo, sixth-ranked Carnegie Mellon and ninth-ranked Thomas More so far this postseason. Basketball
Hoop fans on the Homewood Campus are in for a treat this weekend as the Johns Hopkins men's and women's basketball teams are scheduled to host a doubleheader against Centennial rival Muhlenberg.
The women (4-2, 3-1 in Centennial Conference play) will play at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday and the men (4-2, 2-1) will follow at 4 p.m. ET. Both teams have gotten off to strong starts so far this season and each feature a number of players who off to quick starts this season.
Jimmy Hammer of the men's team is currently fourth in the conference in scoring (16 points per game) while Haley Bush of the women's team is 12th in scoring (11.2 points) and seventh in rebounding (7.8 rebounds). In addition, Georgeo Bugarinovic will enter Saturday's game just two points shy of 1,000 for his career - Hammer is not far behind as he is 20 points shy of the magical 1,000-point mark.
The Johns Hopkins-Muhlenberg rivalry is one of the best in the Centennial Conference in both men's and women's basketbal. Tune in below if you can't make it to Goldfarb Gymnasium

Swimming
The Johns Hopkins men's and women's swimming teams are spending the weekend in Gambler, OH, as they compete in the Total Performance Sports Camps Invitational. The event, which began on Thursday and will run until Saturday, gives the Blue Jays the opportunity to face off against a number of strong programs. Over the course of the weekend, JHU will take on a trio of Division III powerhouses in Carnegie Mellon, Kenyon and DePauw and two Division I stalwarts in Penn and Davidson. The fifth-ranked men and fourth-ranked women will look to improve upon their third-place finishes last year and qualify individuals and relays for the NCAA Championships. The Johns Hopkins men's and women's fencing teams will travel to Waltham, MA, to participate in the Brandeis Invitational on Sunday.
Track
Both the Johns Hopkins men's and women's track teams will see their first action of the year when they partake in the Bow Tie Classic in Collegeville, PA, on Saturday. During the meet, the Blue Jays will square off against a number of familiar opponents, including host Ursinus.
Wrestling
The Johns Hopkins wrestling team will look to build on a solid performance at the Doug Parker Invitational with a strong showing at the New Standard Corp Invitational on Saturday. The Invitational will take place at York College (PA) and last the entire day.
