FREDERICKSBURG, VA – The 12th-ranked Johns Hopkins women's tennis team came from behind to beat 29th-ranked TCNJ, 5-4, on Friday in Fredericksburg, VA. Hopkins improves to 3-1 on the season with all four of its matches coming against ranked opponents. The Lions meanwhile, suffer their first loss and fall to 8-1.

TCNJ took the lead after doubles by winning two of the three doubles matches. Grace Minassian and Maddy Stoner won at first doubles, topping juniors Amanda Austi and Ashnaa Rao, 8-2. The Lions also won at third, as Anna Prestera and Alyssa Baldi beat sophomore Caroline Greydak and junior Jody Law by an 8-3 score. Hopkins picked up a point in the match when sophomore Megumi Chen and freshman Kimberly Zou won 8-3 over Emma Allen and Jasmine Muniz-Cadorette at second.

In singles, Rao beat Brittany Reedman 6-3, 7-6 (2) at first. The Lions then took points at second and third as Allen beat Chen (6-3, 6-4) and Sneha Rangu beat Law in three (6-2, 3-6, 7-5). The Blue Jays grabbed points at fourth through sixth singles to take the win. Sophomore Sunaina Vohra won at fourth, besting Anna Prestera 6-4, 6-1. At fifth, Greydak won 6-2, 6-3 over Baldi and Zou was a 7-5, 6-2 winner at sixth over Minassian.

Hopkins is now 5-0 all-time against TCNJ in the first meeting between the two since 2010. JHU is back on the court on Saturday to take on top-ranked Williams at 8:00 am in Fredericksburg.
