Nine Blue Jays Named to All-Centennial Conference Team

LANCASTER, PA – The Johns Hopkins men's soccer team placed nine players on the 2019 All-Centennial Conference Team it was announced Wednesday afternoon. The Blue Jays placed four on the first team, three on the second team and two on the honorable mention team. The nine selections are tied with the 2017 squad for the most in school history.
 
Hopkins has now produced 144 All-Centennial Conference selections, including a conference-record 70 first team honorees. Head coach Craig Appleby has coached 63 All-CC honorees, including 30 first team selections. The Blue Jays won their ninth Centennial Conference Championship on Sunday and sports a 16-2-1 record entering this weekend's NCAA Tournament.
 
Senior Connor Jacobs and juniors RJ Moore, Alejandro Maclean and Xander LeFevre all earned First Team All-Centennial Conference honors. Senior Achim Younker and juniors Liam Creedon and Julito Quintana were named to the second team while junior Pablo Martinez and sophomore Tim Treinen earned honorable mention accolades. In addition, freshman Ben Sollinger was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
 
Jacobs earns all-conference honors for the third time in his career after earning second team honors as a sophomore and junior. He is the senior member of a defense that ranks second in the Centennial Conference in scoring defense (0.859). Jacobs has tallied four points (1g, 2a) this season and is tied for 17th in program history with 13 career assists.
 
Moore picks up first team honors after garnering second team honors his first two seasons. He is tied for second on the team in assists (4) and tied for fourth in points (10). Moore is tied for 13th in JHU history with 13 career helpers. Maclean grabs all-conference honors for the second time in his career, including his first first-team selection. He is tied for third on the team in goals (4) and earned CC Tournament MVP honors after scoring the game-winner in the championship game.
 
LeFevre earns first team all-conference honors after picking up second team honors a year ago. He leads the Centennial in wins (16), save percentage (.821), shutouts (8) and minutes (17:51.29) and is second in goals against average (0.77). LeFevre is just the fourth goalie in program history to earn First Team All-Centennial honors and the second in the last three years.
 
Younker grabs his third all-conference honor, despite missing six games with injury. He is tied for fourth on the team in points (10), tied for second in assists (4) and tied for fifth in goals (3). Younker ranks 14th in school history with 65 career points, is tied for 12th with 27 career goals and is tied for 25th with 11 career assists.
 
A two-year starter, this is Creedon's first career all-conference honor. He leads the Blue Jays with a career-high six goals and is tied for the team lead in points (13). He is tied for ninth in the Centennial Conference in goals.
 
Quintana and Treinen also earn their first career all-conference honor. The duo anchors the back of a Blue Jay defense that boasts eight shutouts and has allowed just 15 goals in 19 games. In addition, Quintana leads the team with a career-best five assists. Martinez picks up his second straight All-Centennial Conference honor after earning second team honors a year ago. He has scored three goals, all game-winners, and added an assist for seven points so far this season.
