BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins University Assistant Director of Athletic Communications
Jill Guise will receive the College Sports Information Directors of America's (CoSIDA) 2019 College Division Achievement Award it was announced on Tuesday, February 26. Guise will be honored at CoSIDA's annual convention, which will take place this year at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida from June 9-12. Duke's Lindy Brown will receive the University Division Achievement Award.

The CoSIDA Achievement Awards are presented to associate or assistant media relations directors with 10 or more years of athletic communications service who have made outstanding contributions to the field and provide exceptional service to their institution or conference office.

Guise is in her 13
th year as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Johns Hopkins and directly handles publicity efforts for 11 of Johns Hopkins' 24 varsity athletic programs (women's lacrosse, men's basketball, men's soccer, field hockey, water polo, men's & women's swimming, men's & women's fencing and men's & women's tennis). The Blue Jays' women's lacrosse program competes in the Big Ten at the Division I level.

During her tenure at Johns Hopkins, Guise has served as the media coordinator for a number of NCAA and Centennial Conference Championships and will lead media relations efforts in 2019, 2020 and 2022 as Johns Hopkins will host the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championships.

Johns Hopkins has enjoyed a great deal of success since Guise arrived and she has promoted 47 conference championship teams and 25 individual national champions. In addition, student-athletes from her 11 teams alone have been selected as CoSIDA Academic All-Americans a total of 37 times in her 13 years at Johns Hopkins.

Guise has volunteered as the secretary for ECAC-SIDA since 2008 and served as the co-host of the organization's workshop in 2016 along with her husband, Scott, who is the Director of Athletic Communications at York College of Pennsylvania.

Prior to her time at Johns Hopkins, Guise worked at St. Lawrence University and with the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes.
