Vote Gardner to 2019 Reese's Division III College All-Star Game

KANSAS CITY, MO – Johns Hopkins men's basketball senior Michael Gardner has been selected to be a part of a fan vote for a spot in the 2019 Reese's Division III College All-Star Game. Blue Jay fans will have the opportunity to select Gardner for one of the two teams in the 2019 Reese's® Division III College All-Star Game. The game will be played on March 16 at 4:30 pm ET, prior to the NCAA Division III men's basketball championship game at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, IN.
 
Reese's is the official candy partner of the NCAA. 
 
Voting takes place on the front page of D3hoops.com, starting at noon ET on Tuesday, March 5, and running through noon ET on Thursday, March 7. Fans will be able to choose from a list with the top senior student-athlete in each of the eight Division III regions whose team is no longer participating in the NCAA Tournament. The two with the most votes will join 16 other seniors, two from each region, who were selected by a committee vote, for a total of nine student-athletes per side.
 
In 2018, more than 175,000 votes were cast. Fans will be permitted to cast one ballot per browser.
 
Following the online voting, the Division III all-star executive committee will add the top two candidates nationally who are not playing in the Final Four and haven't been selected in the first 18. These two selections complete the two 10-player teams.
 
A two-time First Team All-Centennial Conference selection, Gardner led Johns Hopkins to an 18-9 record and its second straight appearance in the conference championship game. He averaged 14.6 points per game and shot 45.6 percent from the field, including 39.2 percent from downtown. Gardner ranked ninth in the Centennial in scoring, eighth in assists (73), sixth in field goals (131), third in three-point field goals (69) and seventh in three-point percentage. He scored in double figures in 22 of the Blue Jays' 27 games. In addition, he had six 20-point games, including a pair of 30-point outings.
 
Gardner's name is all over the Blue Jay record book as he ranks in the top-20 in career points (12th • 1,123), field goals (16th • 395), three-pointers (4th • 194), defensive rebounds (16th • 299), assists (14th • 215), games played (12th • 104) and minutes played (10th • 2,671).
