BALTIMORE, MD -- One dollar from all tickets sold for this week's Johns Hopkins-Ohio State game will be donated to the Jerm 19 Fund. The fund was established within the Peabody Conservatory in support of a student pursuing training as a pianist, something that former Blue Jay men's lacrosse player Jeremy Huber was passionate about.

This will be the first year the Johns Hopkins men's lacrosse team transitions from donating to the Johns Hopkins Children's Center to the Jerm 19 Fund.  The proceeds from one game each year ($1 from each ticket sold) had been donated to the Children's Center every year from 1998-2018 in honor of former Blue Jay Chris Gardner, who lost his battle with cancer in the fall of 1997.  Gardner, a freshman on the 1996 Johns Hopkins men's lacrosse team, received his treatment at the Children's Center before passing away.

Jeremy Huber was a freshman at Johns Hopkins and a member of the men's lacrosse team before passing away suddenly less than two weeks before the 2015 season opener.  Huber would have been a senior on the 2018 team and, after consulting with members of both the Gardner and Huber families, head coach Dave Pietramala announced that the team would shift its annual support at one game to the Jerm 19 Fund.

Fans can donate to the Jerm 19 Fund here.
