LANCASTER, PA – For the third time during the outdoor season, senior
Maya Hammonds of the Johns Hopkins women's track & field team has been named the Centennial Conference Field Athlete of the Week.
Hammonds took first place in the long jump at the Widener Invitational last Saturday with the second-best mark in Division III this spring as she recorded a leap of 5.81 meters to take first in the event. She also notched a third-place finish in the high jump at 1.55 meters, which is tied for the top mark in the conference. As a team the Blue Jays placed second at the meet.
Johns Hopkins will next compete at the historic Penn Relays. The three-day event will begin on Thursday, April 25.
