BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins Director of Athletics Alanna W. Shanahan announced a campaign today for the Johns Hopkins Men's and Women's Lacrosse programs. 
 
The Johns Hopkins Lacrosse Endowment Campaign is officially underway. The campaign will provide the support necessary to provide a first-class student-athlete experience and will ensure that our programs continue competing nationally at the highest level.  The endowment will advance the strategic priorities of both programs as determined collaboratively by the men's and women's lacrosse coaches and the Director of Athletics.  As program priorities change over time, this endowment will create and sustain differentiating experiences that will set Hopkins Lacrosse apart.  
 
Signature initiatives that the campaign currently supports:

• Media & Technology Advances
• Nutrition Station & Education
• Strength & Conditioning
• Facility Improvements
• Annual Student-Athlete Networking Trip
• Salary for the Director of Lacrosse Operations

 Campaign Goal:

• Men's Lacrosse Champions Fund Endowment - $5,000,000 Goal
• Women's Lacrosse Excellence Fund Endowment - $5,000,000 Goal

"I don't want to lose sight of preparing our programs for long-term sustainable success, and so much of that is wrapped up in having a secure resource foundation.  We want to have the resources in place to compete for championships year in and year out.  Endowment is the wise choice, it's a strategic choice, and it's where we want to be if we want our programs to be a national powerhouse." noted Shanahan.
 
Endowment funds have been established for both the men's and women's programs over the last several months, and to-date have surpassed $2,000,000 in current funding.  Individuals can make an impact today by supporting the Men's Lacrosse Champions Fund Endowment or Women's Lacrosse Excellence Fund Endowment.
