BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins women's soccer program earned a preseason national ranking for the 2019 season, as the United Soccer Coaches rank the Blue Jays 16
th overall in Division III.Â

The top-20 ranking marks the 12
th time since 2003 that Johns Hopkins has been ranked in the United Soccer Coaches/NSCAA Preseason Poll. The Blue Jays drew a program-best number three ranking in the 2012 preseason poll. The Johns Hopkins Athletic Communications office uses the coaches poll to reflect the Blue Jays' official national ranking.

Hopkins posted its 23
rd consecutive winning season in 2018, posting an 18-3 overall record. JHU went a perfect 10-0 during the Centennial Conference regular season for the second straight season, while also punching its ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the 13th consecutive year. The Blue Jays notched their 26
th victory in NCAA Tournament history with a 3-1 victory over Cabrini, setting the all-time record in the Tournament at 26-14-3.

Johns Hopkins posted another outstanding offensive season, leading the Centennial Conference in goals (63), assists (41) and points (167). Defensively, the Blue Jays ranked second in shutouts (11) and third in GAA (0.81). Â

Johns Hopkins will open up the 2019 season on Saturday, August 31 when the Blue Jays travel to Roanoke, VA to take on 11
th-ranked Lynchburg in the Roanoke Invitational. The match is scheduled to begin at 11:30 am.
