LANCASTER, PA – Senior
Maddy Rocks of the eighth-ranked Johns Hopkins women's soccer team has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week as she scored two goals and added an assist as the Blue Jays went 2-0 on the week.
Rocks started off the week, helping #8 Johns Hopkins pick up a crucial 2-1 road victory over #7 TCNJ. Rocks sent in a corner in the 28
th minute, finding the head of
Emily Maheras, tying the game at 1-1. Then in the 71
st minute, Rocks tapped in a point blank look after
Maggie Coulson ripped one off the crossbar, giving the Blue Jays a 2-1 lead. The Pittsburgh, PA native added another game-winning goal on Saturday at Rowan.
Riley O'Toole played a ball into the box and Rocks was there to knock it in, giving the Blue Jays the lead in the 52
nd minute. Rocks now has registered a point in three of the last four games, giving her two goals and two assists on the season, playing a crucial role in the early season success of the 5-1-1 Blue Jays.
Hopkins returns to action on Wednesday night, traveling to Reading, PA to take on Penn State Berks at 7 pm.
