WASHINGTON, DC – Johns Hopkins women's lacrosse senior attacker Maggie Schneidereith has been named to the 2020 Tewaaraton Award Watch List it was announced Thursday Night. She is one of 50 women's players selected to the list. 2020 marks the 20^th anniversary of the Award.
 
The list included the top players across all three divisions of NCAA lacrosse and highlights the early contenders for the 2020 Tewaaraton Award. The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by The Tewaaraton Foundation.
 
Schneidereith returns after earning All-Big Ten and IWLCA All-Mid-Atlantic honors a year ago. Last season, she led the Big Ten in assists per game (1.61) and ranked second in points (4.28) and third in goals per game (2.67). Schneidereith led the Blue Jays in goals (48), assists (29) and points (77) in 2019 and is the team's active career leader in goals (107), assists (71) and points (178).
 
Players not named to the initial lists have several opportunities to play their way into a spot as the season progresses. Watch list additions, if applicable, will be announced on March 12 and April 2. On April 23, the field will be narrowed to 25 men's and 25 women's nominees. Nominees can be players on the watch lists or players not on the watch lists, effectively allowing for a third round of additions.
