Bonnie Shea was named Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week it was announced this morning. Shea is the third Johns Hopkins women's soccer athlete to earn Centennial weekly honors in 2021, joining
Laurel Buck &
Katie Sullivan.
For the week, the Blue Jays went 1-1, defeating Muhlenberg 4-0 and earning a 2-2 draw vs. #1 TCNJ. Shea found the back of the net for the first time as a Blue Jay, tying Wednesday's contest with TCNJ at 1-1 with a header off of a set piece. Shea did it again on Saturday, scoring in nearly the same fashion, heading home another set piece. Shea logged 106 minutes in the 2OT tie vs. TCNJ and played 79 minutes vs. Muhlenberg on Saturday. The Dartmouth transfer leads the team in minutes played this year with 1,209. No other field player for the Jays has crossed the 1,000 minute threshold.
Hopkins will round out the regular season this week, hosting Dickinson on Wednesday night before traveling to Franklin & Marshall on Saturday for the regular season finale.
