Thirteen Blue Jays Garner CSCAA All-America Honors

BALTIMORE, MD – Thirteen members of the Johns Hopkins men's swimming team were named to the 2021 College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) All-America teams it was announced on Monday. The 13 individuals combined for 31 All-America honors and bring Hopkins all-time total to 1,401 All-Americans.
 
Due to the cancellation of the 2021 NCAA Division III Championship, the CSCAA selected its All-America teams based on verified performances in bona-fide competition submitted by their respective coaches. First team honors went to individuals who achieved CSCAA automatic time standards or who finished among the top-eight in the nation in their respective events. Second team honors went to individuals who achieved a CSCAA consideration standard and was ranked 9-16th in their respective event. 
 
Division III diving selections were conducted via a video evaluation of performances from the 2020-21 academic year. This marks the second straight year that the CSCAA adjusted its All-America criteria after the 2020 NCAA Championships were cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
 
Juniors Maxwell Chen, Jeff Vitek and Dylan Wachenfeld paced the Blue Jays with five All-America honors apiece. Chen has earned 12 All-America honors in his career to lead all current swimmers. Vitek has also reached double-digits and how has 10 career All-America honors.
