BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins water polo team placed a school-record 13 Blue Jays on the 2020 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) and Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) All-Academic Teams it was announced recently.
 
In addition to the individual honors, Hopkins earned team honors with a 3.62 GPA, the fifth best in the nation. Hopkins has now produced 140 all-conference and 153 national academic selections. The Blue Jays' 13 selections are the second most in the nation in Division III.
 
The all-academic teams are divided into three categories – Outstanding (3.71-4.00), Superior (3.41-3.70) and Excellent (3.20-3.40) - based on cumulative grade point average.
 
Senior John Murphy earns the honor for the fourth time in his career, becoming just the ninth player in program history to do so. Senior Olin Shipstead and juniors Jayden Kunwar, Jake Pearson and Emerson Sullivan all earn the honor for the third time.
