Blue Jays Favored To Win Centennial Crown

BALTIMORE – After a canceled 2020 campaign, the Johns Hopkins women's soccer program is picked to finish atop the Centennial Conference in 2021. The Blue Jays received nine of a possible 10 first-place votes in the preseason poll.

The Jays totaled 99 points in the preseason poll, finishing seven points ahead of Dickinson, who received the other two first-place votes. Swarthmore (75), Gettysburg (69) and Haverford (65) round out the top-five of the 11-team league.

Hired in February of 2020, Dan Weiler will coach his first official game at Johns Hopkins on Saturday, September 4. The Blue Jays earned the #6 ranking in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll and will hope to make another deep run into what would be a 19th NCAA Tournament appearance.

Johns Hopkins will host Randolph-Macon, Susquehanna and Mary Washington to Homewood Field this weekend for the JHU Women's Soccer Invitational. The Jays will open the tournament on Saturday at 3 p.m. versus Randolph-Macon.
