Below is a quick look at the 2023 Johns Hopkins baseball captains.
Jaspar Carmichael (GR, RHP)
Of Note: Missed the entire 2022 season while recovering from injury. In 2019, pitched to a 2-0 record with 21.2 innings with a 2.91 ERA and 25 strikeouts. Has pitched in 20 games in his career with a 3.16 ERA and 29 strikeouts.

Isaiah Winikur (SR, OF)
Of Note: Started in eight games before missing the rest of the season due to injury in 2022. Slashed .433/.438/.533 with three doubles and four RBI. Has played in 20 games with a .281 career batting avg. three home runs, eight RBI and a .338 OBP.

Matthew Cooper (SR, IF)
Of Note: 2022 D3Baseball.com Third Team All-Region and Second Team All-CC Selection. Tied for tenth for home runs in a single season in program history with 12. Slashed .327//431/.735 with eight doubles and a team-leading 12 homers and 42 RBI in 2022. He was the 2022 Centennial Conference Baseball Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Sam Frank (SR, OF/C)
Of Note: In 26 games, he batted .280 with 21 runs, 15 extra-base hits and 11 RBI in 2022. In 36 games played, has batted .280/.339/.533 with eight walks, 12 doubles, three homeruns and 12 RBI. He is a Centennial Academic Honor Roll recipient.

Johns Hopkins will open the 2023 season on Friday, February 24 when the Blue Jays host Cortland at Babb Field (3 pm).
