The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins men's fencing team went 5-1 at the JHU Invitational with the Sabre squad going 6-0.

How it Happened
Hopkins dropped its first match of the day to Rutgers, with the Sabre squad earning a 5-4 win. Junior
Sachin Mehta got the clinching win for the Blue Jays. JHU rebounded with a win over Lafayette, sweeping all three weapons. The Sabre squad led the way with an 8-1 win while the Foil squad pulled out a 5-4 win. Freshman
Alan Zheng secured the Foil squad's win.
The Blue Jays followed with a hard-fought win over the sixth-ranked Drew Rangers. The Sabre (8-1) and Foil (5-4) squads earned wins for the Jays. Senior
Evan Lau clinched the win for the Foil squad. Hopkins then picked up back-to-back easy wins over Cornell and Rowan. The Epee squad won a close 5-4 bout over the Profs, with junior
Kent Kotaka securing the win.
Hopkins wrapped up the day with another win over Drew. The Sabre and Foil squads each earned 6-3 wins to lead the way for the Blue Jays.

• Lau's first win in the last match of the day was the 100
th of his career. He is the third Blue Jay to reach the milestone this season, joining senior
Paul Lam and Mehta.
