Series History
•  This week's game will be the 60th game in a series that dates to a 4-4 tie between the two teams in 1921.

• Since 2012, the visiting team has won four of nine games played on campus (one neutral site game in that time).

• First-year Syracuse defensive coordinator Dave Pietramala played at Johns Hopkins from 1986-89 and helped lead the Blue Jays to the 1987 NCAA Championship.  He also served as JHU's defensive coordinator from 1995-97 and as the head coach at Homewood from 2001-20.  He led JHU to the 2005 and 2007 NCAA Championships and two other appearances in the national championship game (2003, 2008).
• Syracuse midfielder John Cohen is in his first season playing for the Orange after being a member of the Johns Hopkins men's lacrosse team in 2020 and 2021.

Quite A Stretch
•  The Blue Jays are in the midst of a stretch that will see them play five games against teams ranked in the top 20 in the nation at the time of the game and four that remain in the top 20, including two against teams currently in the top five.  In succession, and using this week's USILA Poll as a reference, the five-game run includes games at Georgetown (5th), at home against Loyola (NR), back-to-back road games at North Carolina (7th) and Virginia (2nd) and this week's game against Syracuse (18th).  This doesn't include the season-opening game against Jacksonville, which is currently ranked 15th.
• Again using this week's USILA Poll as a reference, the Blue Jays will play nine teams ranked in the top 20 in the nation, including each of the top three, five of the top seven and eight of the top 15, during the 2022 season.

Lacrosse's All-Time Winningest Program
•  Johns Hopkins enters this week's games with an all-time record of 1,000-358-15 to rank as the all-time winningest program in college lacrosse history.
• With the win against Loyola on February 19, Johns Hopkins became the first men's college lacrosse program to reach 1,000 all-time wins.
•  JHU is one of just seven schools with 700+ victories, one of just five with 800+ wins and one of two that has won 900 or more games.

Balance on Offense
• While it's still early, the Blue Jays feature a balanced scoring unit through the first six games of the season.

• In all, 16 different players have already scored at least one goal and 19 players have at least one point to their credit through six games.  The 16 players who have scored a goal already this season in six games already matches how many players scored a goal for the Blue Jays in 13 games last season.
