BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins sophomore
Thomas Yu has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week. This is the first conference weekly honor of his career.
Yu went 4-0 in singles and 4-0 in doubles in leading Hopkins to a 4-0 week, with all four wins coming against ranked opponents. He went 4-0 at number one doubles, 2-0 at number one singles and 2-0 at number two singles. Yu did not drop a set in any of his four singles matches. He and brother James beat the fifth-ranked doubles team in JHU's win over 24th-ranked George Fox.
Yu is 17-4 in singles and ranked fifth in the Atlantic South. In doubles, he boasts a 16-2 record and is ranked seventh with his brother.
Hopkins returns to action on Saturday, April 2 at Haverford.
