th-ranked Carnegie Mellon Sunday afternoon in non-conference action.

• The Tartans grabbed a 3-0 lead after doubles and then swept the singles to complete the win.
• Janabelle Wu and Crystal Zhou took the first point of the match when they beat junior
Christina Huynh and freshman
Aya Igaki-Meader, 8-0, at second doubles. Zoe Angell and Megan Qiang then beat senior
Jessica Liang and junior
Celina Liu, 8-3, at third. Lindy Cornwall and Bin Zheng, ranked fifth in the nation, completed the sweep with an 8-3 win over juniors
Anjali Devireddy and
Emily Javedan at first.
• Zheng picked up the first singles win as she defeated Liang 6-2, 6-1 at fourth. Cornwall then clinched the win for Carnegie Mellon with a 6-0, 6-2 win at third over Huynh.
• Ninth-ranked Zhou then beat Igaki-Meader 6-3, 6-1 at second to give the Tartans a 6-0 lead. Angell followed with a 6-3, 6-1 win over senior
Amanda Ruci at fifth.
• Qiang beat freshman
Zoe Hsieh at sixth 6-1, 7-5. Yang, ranked 35
th in the nation, wrapped up the match with a 7-6, 6-2 win over Devireddy at first.

• Hopkins falls to 8-12 all-time against Carnegie Mellon with the Tartans winning four straight.
