Kadiri Continues To Reach New Heights In Final Weekend Before Conference Championships

Meet Highlights
 
  • Competing at the Penn Relays on Friday evening, the Blue Jay 4x400 team of Lauren Phillips, Annie Gutierrez, Anna Zaeske and Ashley Tyburski brought home some hardware, winning the Centennial/MAC race with a time of 3:56.26, winning the race by three-plus seconds.
  • What more needs to be said about Victoria Kadiri. The sophomore blew away her previous triple jump school record with a 12.22m leap to move up into the top-five of the DIII performance list. She moves up 15+ spots from 19 to three. Not finished, she also set a new PR in the 100 with a qualifying time of 12.53 seconds. That is the eighth-fastest mark in program history and the fastest time in the event by a Jay this year. She finished second in the final at 12.57 seconds. Kadiri also ran the 200, finishing in 26.45. Teammate Grace Massillon had the best Blue Jay time at 26.29.
  • In the 400, Tyburski ran a new outdoor PR and the second-fastest time by a Blue Jay in the event this year as she crossed the line in 58.52 to place fourth. Zaeske placed fourth, finishing in 59.86.
  • Gutierrez placed third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.66, the fourth-fastest time in JHU program history. Gutierrez qualified for the final with a time of 14.74. Gutierrez also finished fourth with a 5.52m long jump.
  • Taryn Silvernale and Miayunique South continue their strong seasons in the pole vault, placing fourth and fifth respectively. Silvernale finished fourth with a 3.53m pole vault while South continues to raise her PR week-by-week, hitting a 3.38m vault.

  • The Blue Jays will compete in the Centennial Conference Outdoor Championships in Collegeville, PA next weekend.
