ROME, GA – Graduate student Ashley Chang and freshman Sophia Kim won their opening round match at the 2023 ITA Cup Thursday night at the Rome Tennis Center.
 
Chang and Kim defeated Lindsay Eisenman and Ella Brissett of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the round of 16. The Blue Jay duo pulled out a 7-6 (4) in win the first set before taking the match with a 6-2 win in the second set.
 
Chang and Kim will take on third-seeded Oliwia Mikos and Rena Lin of the University of Chicago in Friday's quarterfinal match at 7:00 pm.
 
Chang and Kim are just the second Hopkins' doubles team to compete in the ITA Cup (formerly the ITA National Small College Championship).
