BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins Associate Vice Provost for Student Affairs, Director of Athletics and Recreation Jennifer S. Baker announced the signing of a strategic partnership with Playfly Aspire today. The partnership is the first of its kind for the Johns Hopkins Department of Athletics.
Â
Under the terms of the agreement, Playfly Aspire will establish and staff a fan relationship management center (FRMC) that will be housed in Newton White Athletic Center on Johns Hopkins' Homewood campus. Among the initiatives that the FRMC will spearhead on behalf of the university are the sale, activation and fulfillment of all athletics sponsorships and ticket sales for Blue Jay home regular season men's lacrosse games. The FRMC will also collaborate with Blue Jays Unlimited, the official fund-raising arm of Blue Jay athletics, on the cultivation of new donor prospects.
Â
"We are thrilled to partner with Playfly Aspire, and are excited to collaboratively grow our ticketing, sponsorship, and annual giving operations," Baker stated. "Their depth of experience, data-driven strategy, and track record of innovation will be instrumental in positioning us to elevate our fan experience, while also helping us to bolster the resources necessary to continue to support all of our Blue Jay student-athletes at the highest possible level."
Â
The Johns Hopkins-Playfly Aspire partnership was brokered with the strategic advisory assistance of LEONA.
Â
Playfly Aspire will work with a Johns Hopkins athletic program that won the school's first LEARFIELD Directors' Cup in 2022-23. Johns Hopkins has 24 varsity athletic teams with two, men's and women's lacrosse, competing at the NCAA Division I level as sport affiliate members in the Big Ten and the remaining 22 competing at the NCAA Division III level. Johns Hopkins teams have combined to win 57 national championships and more than 300 conference titles.
Â
Off the field, Blue Jay student-athletes have earned 58 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships and have been honored as CoSIDA/College Sports Communicators Academic All-Americans 244 times. Johns Hopkins ranks fifth all-time among all schools in all divisions with its 244 all-time Academic All-Americans.
Â
"We are proud to partner with Johns Hopkins Athletics, whose vision of developing future leaders and champions aligns extremely well with our approach to raising the game for fans, donors, and sponsors," said Playfly Aspire President & CEO, Bill Fagan. "We are eager to link arms with all Blue Jay Athletics stakeholders. Excellence matters, and the future has never been brighter."
